Professor Phillippa Poole announced as new Head of School of Medicine

Professor Phillippa Poole has been appointed as the new Head of School of Medicine.
Phillippa is well known to everyone in the faculty as the current Head of the Department of Medicine and formally the Head of the Medical Programme from 1999-2009.
She is a widely respected senior physician at Auckland Hospital and is heavily involved in all aspects of leadership in medical education at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
I believe [Phillippa] is the ideal candidate to assume the important leadership of the School of Medicine.
Phillippa has made many positive contributions to the faculty and in particular has been a strong positive advocate for equity roles.
Professor John Fraser, Dean of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, says "I believe she is the ideal candidate to assume the important leadership of the School of Medicine".
