Talented Business students win PM’s scholarships to study overseas

2019 GBI cohort on one of their semesters abroad.

A cohort of students from the Global Business and Innovation (GBI) Programme at the University of Auckland Business School have been awarded Prime Minister’s Scholarships for Asia to study at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) in September. The students are majoring in International Business.

Twelve other International Business students will study at Tec de Monterrey, Mexico, in January 2020. They are recipients of a former round of the Prime Minister’s Scholarships for Latin America.

…The international networks and cross-cultural skills that they bring back home will enhance and strengthen our future workforce. Their experiences benefit New Zealand at a national level and improve our ability to engage and connect with Asia and Latin America.

Chris Hipkins Education Minister

Our students join around 200 other young New Zealanders who now have the opportunity to add international experience to their education, thanks to these scholarships.

‘’The Prime Minister’s Scholarships support the Government’s goal of a thriving and globally connected New Zealand through world-class international education,” Education Minister Chris Hipkins said when he announced the awards last week.

“…The international networks and cross-cultural skills that they bring back home will enhance and strengthen our future workforce. Their experiences benefit New Zealand at a national level and improve our ability to engage and connect with Asia and Latin America.”
