How to continue your support while cheques are phased out

Plant growing from coins

The University has been notified by its bank, BNZ, that from July the University will no longer be able to bank any cheques from donors, regardless of who the donors bank with.

Banks including Kiwibank and BNZ are working to ensure that everybody who uses cheques has an alternative way to access banking services.

We are happy to help anyone affected by the change with finding other ways to support the work of The Foundation. Please call Becky Calder on 09 9234684 or email b.calder@auckland.ac.nz for assistance.

You can donate securely on the University’s website www.giving.auckland.ac.nz using your debit or visa card.

If you don’t have access to a computer, phone banking is another option. It’s easiest to set this up in your branch. If you are unable to do this, you can set it up by either going to the bank’s official webpage and following the links, or by ringing them and setting it up over the phone. Here are some of the banks’ phone numbers:

ANZ 0800 269 296
ASB 0800 803 804
BNZ 0800 275 269
HSBC 0800 028 088

Rabobank 0800 500 933
