Pop-up vaccination centre at University of Auckland

Staff, students, whanau and members of the public who received their first vaccination at the University of Auckland pop-up Vaccination Centre in August have been invited back for a second dose this weekend (16/17 October). This coincides with the Ministry of Health’s Super Saturday – the national day of vaccinations.

Stock shot: Person being vaccinated

The last on campus pop-up vaccination event saw more than 1000 staff and students in residence take up the opportunity. Returnees or first time vaccers can get a shot at the University this weekend – no appointment needed. Alternatively, appointments can be made at www.BookMyVaccine.nz.

Dates: Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 October / 9am-6pm
Location: Level 1, Sir Owen G Glenn Building (OGGB): 12 Grafton Road.
Parking: Free parking is available in the building.
Tracing: Anyone on University of Auckland campus under Alert Level 3, must sign in using the NZ COVID app.

In response to the ongoing Delta outbreak, the Ministry of Health is advising New Zealanders to consider a shorter gap between Pfizer vaccine doses than the current standard of six weeks which will mean more people will be fully vaccinated and increase community immunity.

People who have already booked a vaccination at six weeks apart can come into the pop-up centre (remembering to cancel any previous appointment) provided there is a three-week gap.
