University forms partnership with top Malaysian university

The University of Auckland’s Faculty of Education and Social Work is delighted to announce it has formed a strategic partnership with Taylor’s University, the top private university in Malaysia.

This will allow students studying the Bachelor of Education (Hons) at Taylor’s University to transfer either to the Bachelor of Education (TESOL) or the Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies offered at the University of Auckland after just one year*.

Associate Dean (International), Associate Professor Marek Tesar, says the University is honoured to begin this new partnership.

“It will allow the mutual sharing of knowledge and skills between the students of both institutions, and we have confidence that both communities will be able to contribute further to the future of education in both New Zealand and Malaysia.”

Head of the School of Education at Taylor’s University, Logendra Stanley Ponniah, says the partnership is a landmark achievement for them.

"The University of Auckland accepting our students is a testament to the quality of our programme. We are able to give our students the ‘UoA experience’ and provide them the opportunity to continue their studies with some of the world’s best.

"We know that this relationship will solidify our working relationship with New Zealand and its educational institutions.”
