Take Volunteer Week (18-23 September) as an opportunity to make a positive impact on your community.

UoA Volunteer Week is a celebration of collaboration and service. Join us during the week to hear from thought-provoking speakers, meet other student volunteers, participate in different activities and end the week with a group volunteering day!

Feed it Forward: Can Collection for City Mission
We're collecting cans for a great cause throughout the week. We'll be collecting non-perishables like canned veggies, pasta, breakfast cereals, and hygiene products like toothbrushes, shampoo and feminine hygiene products.
All week 10am-12pm Te Kāuta Student Kitchen and Lounge, KEIC Level 2 and all events listed below
BBQ Meet and Greet
Kick off the week with some kai and a chance to learn about volunteering clubs on campus, events for the week and meet other student volunteers.

Speaker Panel
Hear from thought-provoking speakers from the Cancer Society, Good Bitches Baking, Volunteering NZ's Youth Working Group, Elder Care Volunteers, Student Volunteer Army and Conservation NZ.

NZ Blood Pop Up
Discover your blood type and learn more about blood donation. Join us to learn how you can make an impact and save lives.
Tuesday 19 September 10am-1pm Student Quad
Bucket Prep for Blind Foundation
NZ Blind and Low Vision will be providing 100 buckets that need a bit of a makeover for the upcoming bucket collection. Lend a hand and learn more about volunteering with them.
Wednesday 20 September 10am-1pm Engineering Atrium Level 3/401-318
AIESEC Global Village
Explore overseas volunteering opportunities with AIESEC.
Thursday 21 September 11am-3.30pm Student Quad
Volunteering Quiz
Gather your friends at come along to Shadows to test your knowledge in this volunteering-themed quiz. We'll be covering international volunteering, general knowledge about different organisations, volunteer tourism and more, so come prepped! Free food and there'll be prizes up for grabs!

UoA Group Volunteer Day
Get ready for a day of making positive contributions to your community! Join us as we head out to actively contribute to Tāmaki Makaurau. There'll be chances to make positive change and make meaningful connections.

You can choose from:

  • Sanctuary Mahi Whenua - weeding/planing
  • Takapuna Beach - cleanup with SVA. We'll have gear and PPE
  • Elder Care at Aria Park Centre - crafts and musical instruments with elders. All supplies provided.
