Should you use AI in literature reviews?

Artificial intelligence tools are rapidly changing how researchers discover, screen and synthesise literature. However, the benefits of AI must be balanced against risks related to accuracy, bias, transparency and compliance with research policies and guidelines. This workshop explores practical ways to use AI to augment literature reviews, particularly for theses, while maintaining research integrity and quality.

We will cover:

  • Navigating guidelines
  • Considerations for literature review methods and AI integration
  • The current landscape of AI tools for literature discovery, screening and synthesis
  • Critical evaluation of tools and outputs
