Reporting a potential breach of the Research Integrity Policy

The different ways you can report a concern or allegation of a potential breach of the Research Integrity (RI) Policy.

Reporting a concern

Reporting a concern about a potential breach of the RI policy is one of the researcher's responsibilities under the policy.

You can do this by:

  • Discussing your concern with your academic head, a senior researcher or manager.
  • Contacting Dr Elizabeth Visser, the Research Integrity Officer, at researchintegrity@auckland.ac.nz in confidence.
  • Contacting a research integrity adviser (RIA) in your faculty/LSRI in confidence.
  • Completing the Reporting Research Integrity Concerns form
    • This form will be submitted to the Research Integrity Officer. It does not offer anonymous reporting – use the whistleblower hotline for anonymous submissions.
  • Using the independent whistleblower hotline:

This 24/7 hotline is independently operated by KPMG (Australia) on behalf of the University. All staff and students can use the whistleblower hotline to report suspected unethical behaviour, including concerns about research conduct.

More information about this hotline, including an explanation about making anonymous complaints, is available on the Whistleblower hotline page.
