Prakriti Vashishtha

Prakriti Vashishtha entered the Arts 3MT Heat in 2021 with the hope of simply developing confidence. She won the Faculty of Arts Heat, making it to the 3MT Finals.

“My research goal is to evoke more conversations around the importance of developing a critical literacy towards concepts of time. I have been intrigued by systems and time since my undergraduate and this project navigates through some of the difficulties of recording and experiencing time and its multiplicity.

“I entered the Faculty of Arts 3MT Heat in 2021, simply because I wanted to gain confidence and put myself out there for once. I didn't particularly think about whether I'd clear the heat or not. The notes from the judges were so very useful in terms of bringing more clarity to the presentation."

I’d encourage anyone to enter Three Minute Thesis. Focus on communicating your passion for the project and no matter how nervous you are, it will be worth it.

“I loved writing the script for my 3MT speech. It felt great to remember the beginning of conceptualising the project and how it had evolved since. Meeting and interacting with people from different disciplines was a bonus and made the overall experience very enriching.

“I’d encourage anyone to enter Three Minute Thesis. My advice is to focus on communicating your passion for the project and no matter how nervous you are, it will be worth it.”
