Pursuing a formal diagnosis

If you decide to seek a formal diagnosis, the next step is to arrange an assessment with a qualified professional.

  • Your GP or healthcare provider can refer you to a specialist.

ADHD and Autism 

  • Autism NZ and ADHD NZ maintain directories of professionals who offer diagnostic services.

Specific learning disabilities 

  • Assesement can be carried out by Specialist Learning Assessors (e.g. through SPELD) or an Educational Psychologists.
