He chose to pursue his masters degree at the University of Auckland because of its reputation and also because it offered one of the best planning degrees focusing on the urban environment.
Studying at the University also opened doors to other opportunities for Don Patrick. He landed a summer internship at Auckland Council, which enabled him to gain public sector experience as well as valuable connections from companies within New Zealand and overseas.
Don Patrick says he really enjoyed his time on campus. He was quite active in various social events and organisations, including the Filipino Students’ Association, where he served as president. The club organised several events that highlighted Filipino culture and heritage as well as cultural exchange programmes that expanded their connections among the Southeast Asian community.
“I would definitely recommend Filipinos and other aspiring students to consider studying at the University of Auckland because it is New Zealand's top university and offers high-quality education in its beautiful and centrally located campus,” he says.
