The Scholarship was established in 2023 and is funded by Alex and Simon Worker, in memory of their mother Lucy Ullrich, who was an alumna of the School of Architecture and Planning. Lucy was passionate about urban design and recognised the need for women working in urban design to be supported in their studies and their career.

The intention of the Scholarship is to encourage and support a woman student who is undertaking a Master of Urban Design at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
