The Award was established in 1995 and is financed from the investment of funds which were made available by Mr Norm Thom, one of the foundation staff members of Environmental Science at the University of Auckland, for this purpose.
The purpose of the Award is to provide assistance to a suitable postgraduate student to pursue MSc thesis research in Environmental Science.
If the Award is made for the purpose of obtaining reference material and/or equipment, such material or equipment will become the property of the School.
