University of Auckland Māori Academic Excellence Scholarship

A Scholarship to recognise and reward exceptional Māori students entering the first year of an undergraduate degree programme or Certificate of Health Sciences.

Applicable study: First three full-time years of an undergraduate degree programme at the University of Auckland Waipapa Taumata Rau for Māori students
Opening date: 31 May 2023
Closing date: 23 August 2023
Tenure: Three years
For: One year of accommodation and study assistance
Number on offer: Up to 25
Offer rate: Annually
Value: Up to $25,000 in total comprising one year of catered accommodation in a Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland Hall of Residence in the first year plus $5,000 paid in lump sum payments each year (see Reg. 2)

The Scholarship was established in 2016 and is funded by Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland.

The main purpose of the Scholarship is to recognise and reward exceptional academic performance combined with outstanding sporting, artistic, cultural and / or leadership achievements among Māori students. The provision of University accommodation is designed to provide the best student experience and promote excellent academic outcomes.
