What are Schedules?

Overview

Courses in the General Education programme are organised into lists called Schedules. There are two main types of schedules – Open Schedule and Faculty Schedule.

  • Open Schedule: courses available to all students in all programmes
  • Faculty Schedule: courses available to students in specific programmes

If your degree programme has a General Education requirement, you must ensure to select a General Education course from the Open Schedule and/ or your degree's Faculty Schedule. Selecting a course outside of your degree's applicable schedules will result in the course not fulfilling your degree's General Education requirement(s).

For assistance with course selection and degree planning, you can contact Student Hubs.

You can review all of the General Education courses in the University’s Calendar. However, to find out when courses are being offered, you can check out the Course Catalogue. To find out details about a course, you can check out Course Outlines.

The new Faculty of Arts and Education and the expanded Faculty of Engineering and Design were established on 1 January 2025. These regulations/ schedules reflect the previous faculty names in existence in 2024. The information relating to individual programmes and courses has not changed and is correct.
