The role of the Pro Vice-Chancellor Innovation and Enterprise
Dr Greg Murison (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Māmoe, Waitaha) is the inaugural Pro Vice-Chancellor Innovation and Enterprise. The role sits alongside Greg's position as Chief Executive of UniServices, the University’s not-for-profit, stand-alone company that connects academic research and world-class researchers with industry, Government and funding to help them create real-world opportunities for new products and services.
As Pro Vice-Chancellor, Innovation and Enterprise, Greg actively seeks strategic opportunities to advance knowledge translation and impact of research with industry, investors, public bodies and charities seeking to tap the expertise, inventions, technologies and intellectual property available from the University of Auckland.
Greg also contributes to the development of the University’s innovation strategy, the Newmarket Innovation Precinct, and drives the visibility of innovation and collaboration across the University.
The role sits alongside the positions of Pro Vice-Chancellor Global and Graduate Research and Pro Vice-Chancellor Research Performance and Reputation to develop a cohesive leadership framework for the Research and Innovation portfolio that reaches across the University and UniServices.
In his roles, Greg develops research innovation and enterprise strategies to drive strategic change and foster a culture of research innovation and entrepreneurship, ensuring the University remains at the forefront of academic and innovative advancements.
