Scientist at Art in the Dark

Glowing Squid

Living Light, an artwork by Maurice Wilkins Centre Investigator Dr Siouxsie Wiles and artist Rebecca Klee, is part of the Art in the Dark Festival at Western Park, Ponsonby 7 – 9 November, 8pm – 12am

Living Light harnesses the incredible light-making properties of Vibrio fisheri, a kind of bioluminescent bacteria usually found in the sea. The installation will transform a portion of Western Park in to an unexpected and other worldly scene.
