Law and Recognition: persons, institutions, and plurality workshop

On Monday 10 and Tuesday 11 September 2018, Associate Professor Nicole Roughan hosted a workshop on Law and Recognition: persons, institutions, and plurality.

The interdisciplinary event brought together leading international and local scholars of general jurisprudence, philosophy of recognition, political theories of multiculturalism, theories of legal plurality, and the interaction of tikanga and state law, to examine the relationships between inter-personal, political, legal, and inter-systemic practices of recognition.
The Law and Recognition project is supported by Nicole’s Rutherford Discovery Fellowship from the Royal Society Te Apārangi and the New Zealand Centre for Legal Theory.
