The Taylors College Auckland Remote Learning Centre opens on 9 July at the Shanghai Institute of Technology (SIT), ready for its first intake of students enrolled in the University of Auckland Foundation Studies Certificate programme.

This centre will give our students the opportunity to experience a university setting until travel to New Zealand becomes an option again. It has been designed to bring students together to build a sense of community, have a positive effect on their mental health and wellbeing, and support strong academic outcomes.

Director International at the University, Brett Berquist, said, “Ensuring that our international students are well supported during their time with us is so important. We understand how difficult it can be for students to stay motivated while studying online, not knowing when they might be able to come to Auckland. That's why we continue to develop initiatives such as this, and others that form part of our Auckland Advantage package of support services, to help students stay connected with their peers and the University”

Students will have the opportunity to study online at the Remote Learning Centre while enjoying an on-campus experience and attending lectures and tutorials in a classroom setting, delivered virtually by Taylors College Auckland teachers.

Foundation students who choose to study at the Taylors College Auckland Remote Learning Centre in Shanghai will benefit from relocation assistance to SIT accommodation, fully-equipped learning facilities, and on-campus student support and orientation. They can also take full advantage of SIT's academic and leisure facilities, and will be able to take part in campus activities and social events.

Taylors College Auckland students have a record of achieving excellent academic results. Successful completion of the Foundation Studies Certificate gives students direct progression to the University of Auckland, where they will continue their studies with the assurance of a high-quality education at New Zealand’s highest ranked University.
