Te wiki o te Reo Māori 2026
31 August 2026
Te Wiki o te Reo Māori is a chance to celebrate, learn and connect through te reo Māori. Join us on ReoSpace for four days of activities, waiata, games and fun.
Nau mai, haere mai,
Te Wiki o te Reo Māori takes place during 14-20 September, with this year's theme being Te Reo Towns. The theme celebrates the communities that have helped keep te reo Māori alive and thriving, while highlighting the role we all play in supporting and strengthening the language through everyday use.
From our homes and workplaces to schools, libraries and community spaces, small actions can make a meaningful difference. Whether it's learning a new kupu, using a greeting in te reo Māori, or sharing knowledge with others, each step helps ensure te reo Māori continues to be seen, heard and valued.
At Waipapa Taumata Rau, we are committed to creating opportunities for te reo Māori to be learned, used and celebrated, supporting its continued growth within our university community and beyond.
