Statement from the Chancellor
Monday 14 November
Kia ora koutou
As you will know, the collective bargaining process with the Tertiary Education Union (TEU) and Public Service Association (PSA) continues this week. A salary offer to staff members on Individual Employment Agreements (IEA) is also expected shortly.
Unfortunately, as these staff salary negotiations progress, there has been speculation that the Vice-Chancellor is in line for a salary increase in excess of the rate of inflation.
The Public Service Commission is required to approve the Vice-Chancellor's remuneration and I can confirm there have not been any discussions with them on this matter. The Vice-Chancellor has not received any salary increases since she took up the position in March 2020.
