Summer staff

Our Summer staff work closely with the Accommodation team over the busy summer accommodation season by applying to be a Summer Assistant or Senior Resident.

Summer Assistants

Our Summer Assistants work 15 hours a week, assisting with the evening operations of accommodation for our summer guests and residents.

Reporting to a Resident Manager, our Summer Assistants will work in the evenings and weekends. Summer Assistants will live onsite and be ready to assist when on their rostered shifts.

This paid position is suited to individuals who wish to commit themselves to a challenging and rewarding employment opportunity over the summer period. This position does have the flexibility for  students who are attending summer school, or have other casual employment in Auckland over summer.

Senior Resident

Senior Residents are a new, live-in, fixed term, part-time role which is designed to connect, support and engage with our residents that will be here over summer. This role is key in ensuring that we continue to deliver excellent pastoral care over the summer months.

Reporting to a Resident Manager, Senior Residents work 5 hours per week. They work flexible hours to engage residents, support events and refer residents to the most appropriate service. Successful candidates will need to commit to the position for the entire duration of the contract and be available for work in the evenings, weekends and public holidays.

This paid position has the flexibility for students who are attending summer school or have other casual employment in Auckland over summer. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in gaining some customer care, events and pastoral care experience, and still having the flexibility to enjoy other summer pursuits.

Casual summer workers

Accommodation often employs a team of casual summer workers to assist with logistical tasks related to the set-up of summer accommodation and preparation for the incoming academic year.

These positions are casual paid positions with staff on a timesheet and report to the Accommodation Operations team.

If you are interested in applying for one of these casual roles they will be listed throughout summer via Student Job Search.
