Gain a clearer understanding of how the New Zealand job market operates. This workshop explores how employers hire, including the value of conversations at employer and alumni events and how networking can open unexpected opportunities and increase your visibility in the world of work.

You will also learn where to find roles beyond SEEK and how to identify and explore potential career pathways by researching organisations you may not yet know and connecting with them on LinkedIn.

Campus to Career series: Design Your Career

If you’re unsure where to start with your job search or what direction to take, this session offers a structured place to begin.

You’ll start by reflecting on your experiences and identifying your skills and values, helping you consider possible career directions. This insight will then inform the job search portion of the session, where you’ll explore different ways to look for opportunities, what employers typically consider in applications, and how to take a more intentional approach to planning your next steps.

A tailored CV is essential for standing out in a competitive job market. This workshop will teach you how to analyse job descriptions, highlight your most relevant skills and improve your CV using practical strategies. You’ll also take part in a peer review session to strengthen it before applying.

Campus to Career series: Sharpen your Interview Skills

Practise your interview skills in a safe and supportive environment. Build your confidence and learn how to communicate your skills clearly and effectively. This session focuses on making strong first impressions, structuring your answers and receiving valuable feedback through mock interview activities with other students.
