Postgraduate Bootcamp Part 1: Develop Your Career Direction

This workshop helps you start shaping a clear and meaningful career direction by connecting your personal motivations with real-world opportunities.
You will explore career possibilities across both academic and non-academic pathways. By the end of the workshop, you will have greater clarity on what drives you and a practical starting point for exploring career pathways aligned with your skills, values, and aspirations.

Postgraduate Bootcamp Part 2: Increase Your Exposure to Career Opportunities and Learn to Market Yourself to Them!
Date: 1 July
Time: 10am–1pm
Location: B201-440, 10 Symonds Street, City Campus
This workshop helps you build the connections, visibility, and practical tools needed to strengthen your career opportunities in today’s job market.
Topics covered include:
- The NZ job market context and how career opportunities are accessed in a competitive environment
- How to build and use networking opportunities effectively
- Personal branding and communicating your PhD, Master's and PG diplomas’ impact and transferable skills to different audiences
You will also develop practical career preparation tools, including:
- Analysing job adverts, researching roles and organisations, and tailoring applications
- Writing tailored CVs and cover letters
- Understanding LinkedIn and how to use it strategically
By the end of the workshop, you will have a clearer understanding of how to position yourself, communicate your value, and actively increase your career opportunities.
