Visa Entitlement Verification Online system (VEVO)

If you do not have your Australian permanent residency visa in your passport, you can ask for the Australian Department of Home Affairs to send your visa to the University of Auckland.

You can do this by using the Visa Entitlement Verification Online system or VEVO. VEVO is the Australian resident visa verification process. It should not be confused with Vevo, the online video streaming platform.

Please note, the Department of Home Affairs no longer provides hard copy evidence of Australian permanent residency status. This means that if you received your permanent residency after this change, you would need to follow the online verification process.

What to do

To verify your permanent resident visa, you can log into the VEVO system:

  • Go to your 'Entitlements details' page
  • Click on the 'Send Email' button in the top right-hand corner of the page
  • In the 'Recipient email address' field, please enter supportteam@auckland.ac.nz
  • Follow the instructions provided on the website to submit your visa status verification.

When your visa verification is received, this will be processed as soon as possible.

Please note, we will only be able to accept the verification email received directly from the VEVO website. Verification emails forwarded from any other email addresses will not be accepted.
