“What I value the most is the interdisciplinary nature of my programme and the opportunities where I get to collaborate with peers. I especially enjoy courses that allow me to apply theory to real-world problems.

As an international student, she has found the experience enriching and supportive. “I have made friends from all over the world, which makes studying here even more rewarding.”

She is a recipient of two international student scholarships - University of Auckland International School Leaver Scholarship and the Dean's Asia Scholarship in the Faculty of Business and Economics. “Receiving scholarships was incredibly important. More than just financial support, it also gave me confidence and motivation to pursue higher academic goals.”

My degrees give me a strong foundation in both politics and economics, which I
believe are essential for solving global challenges.

Since moving to New Zealand, Chi has noticed some changes. “The biggest change was adapting to a more independent, self-directed learning style, and critical thinking. It took time to adjust but I have grown more confident in managing my time and forming my own perspectives.”

She has been enjoying living in Auckland. “You can meet people from all over the world, which creates a welcoming and vibrant community. The natural beauty is unbeatable, there is always somewhere to explore. I really appreciate New Zealand’s inclusive, peaceful society and its strong commitment to sustainability.”

Chi has some advice for new students. “Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Join clubs, attend networking events and don’t hesitate to reach out for help when you need it.”
