Quick facts:
- Up to 300 scholarships awarded annually
- Up to NZ$20,000 each award
- Open to new, full-time students at undergraduate or postgraduate level
- Opening date: 12 October 2023 (Semester One intake) and 7 March 2024 (Semester Two intake)
- Closing date: 21 November 2023 (Semester One intake) and 18 April 2024 (Semester Two intake)
With New Zealand’s borders now fully open, the University of Auckland supports international students to get back on campus by offering a wide range of scholarships, including exclusive scholarships for applicants from India and Southeast Asia.
The scholarships will be awarded biannually to new students studying full-time on a wide range of undergraduate degrees, masters degrees and postgraduate diplomas, who demonstrate high academic achievement in their previous study.
We offer a range of scholarships for those who are planning to enrol in Semester One 2024. You must have received a conditional offer of admission, and be enrolled, or enrolling, full-time in an approved programme to be eligible.

University of Auckland India High Achievers Scholarship
The University of Auckland India High Achievers Scholarship offers scholarships up to $20,000 towards tuition fees for new international students from India enrolling full-time in undergraduate degrees, PGDip or masters degrees.
University of Auckland ASEAN High Achievers Scholarship
This new scholarship offers up to $10,000 towards tuition fees for new international students from ASEAN countries enrolling in undergraduate degrees, masters degrees or postgraduate diplomas.
University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship
A scholarship of up to $10,000 for new international students undertaking a postgraduate diploma, taught masters or undergraduate degree (gaining University admission with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications).
