Study abroad provider scholarships

The University of Auckland has partnered with the following US-based study abroad providers to offer scholarships to students enrolled in their University of Auckland programmes.

IFSA-Butler

Auckland UpFront Scholarship

The University of Auckland has partnered with IFSA-Butler to offer several scholarships each semester ranging from US$5,000-$7,500 to cover some of the upfront costs of studying abroad, such as your programme deposit and airfare. Please complete the scholarship application in the IFSA Student Portal to apply.

IES Abroad

University of Auckland Study Abroad Scholarship

This scholarship has been established to provide support for IES Abroad students to experience one semester or one year at the University of Auckland as a non-degree study abroad student. Four scholarships of up to NZ$7,000 have been allocated for IES Abroad students each year. Please apply online through your myIESabroad account.

The Education Abroad Network (TEAN)

Merit-Based Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is to award those who have not only achieved academic excellence, but have also served as leaders and role models within their community. One US$5,000 scholarship is available each semester for high achieving TEAN students who apply online for a TEAN merit, need or diversity scholarship.    

Choose Earth Scholarship

This US$2,000 scholarship is for students majoring in a field related to environmental science/management or sustainability, and enrolled in two courses at the University of Auckland relating to the environment or sustainability. TEAN students who apply for a TEAN merit, need or diversity scholarship will automatically be considered.  

People & Place Scholarship

This US$2,000 scholarship is for students majoring in sociology, anthropology, history or indigenous studies, and enrolled in two courses at the University of Auckland relating to Māori or Pacific Island studies or New Zealand history and culture. TEAN students who apply for a TEAN merit, need or diversity scholarship will automatically be considered.
