Your ORCID iD is a 16-digit number is unique to you, distinguishing you from other researchers and ensuring your research is accurately attributed to you. Using it when publishing your research will automatically populate it on your ORCID profile and in other connected research systems like Te Waka Huia Rangahau | Research Outputs.

- Automatically attribute outputs to you and populate them in your ORCID profile and other connected research systems like Research Outputs.
- Create a trusted record of your research excellence for founders
and collaborators, who verify your authenticity against your ORCID record. - Support University reporting and funding initiatives.
Essential steps for ORCID for University researchers
The University requires at minimum:
- Registering for your ORCID iD
- Connecting it to your Research Outputs
- Displaying your ORCID iD on your Discovery profile
