An online workshop supporting supervisors to navigate research data management with their students.

This workshop provides an overview of the University's Research Data Management Policy specifically from a supervisor perspective. It offers practical advice and points supervisors towards relevant University services to help them navigate ethics, data sovereignty, security, and data sharing with their students. In-person workshops are available on request.
Attendance counts toward the development opportunities required for five-yearly reaccreditation of doctoral supervisors.

Registration is open for the four workshops planned for this year:
- Thursday 26 February, 10am-2.30pm
- Monday 13 April, 11am-12.30pm
- Wednesday 12 August, 1pm-2.30pm
- Friday 20 November, 10am-11.30am
In addition to the schedule above, departments or schools can request a workshop by emailing researchdata@auckland.ac.nz.
Learning outcomes
Attendees will be able to:
- Describe the importance of good research data management
- Identify relevant University policies and processes for research data management
- Encourage your students to apply policies, data classification, and best
practices to their research across the research data lifecycle - Know where to direct students to find guidance, services, and support across the University for managing research data
