Border exemptions for international PhD candidates

On Monday 12 October, the Minister for Education announced border exceptions that will allow entry to New Zealand for up to 250 international PhD candidates and postgraduate students.

New PhD Statute effective 1 October 2020

The new PhD Statute brings many benefits, including enabling candidates to use Wahapū, our new digital tool for online candidature management. Current candidates who wish to read and/or move to the new Statute can do so at PhD Statute and guidelines.

About the School of Graduate Studies

The School of Graduate Studies has overall responsibility for the development and oversight of policies and procedures for graduate programmes, and for the promotion of graduate study and advocacy for graduate students.

We provide information and a range of services to all prospective and current postgraduate students. Our Doctoral Candidate Advisers can help with doctoral enrolment, progression, examination and thesis submission enquiries.

The Dean of Graduate Studies, Associate Professor Caroline Daley, is the Chair of the Board of Graduate Studies. The board is responsible for the creation and administration of the University's policies on postgraduate study.
