Enrolling in the Bachelor of Commerce

It is important to know that enrolling is different depending on if you’re enrolling for the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) as a single or conjoint degree. There is a section for both on this page.

When enrolling, we recommend that you

  • Enrol in your courses for both Semester One and Two to avoid missing out on a place in your preferred courses.
  • Enrol in Semester One first, then enrol into Semester Two.
  • Enrol as soon as you accept your offer of place to avoid missing out choosing a course time that best works for you.

Please note, you must complete all the core Year One Commerce courses before progressing to Year Two Commerce courses.

You can choose to enrol into your courses individually to work out clash-free timetables for your required courses by yourself. This offers you the flexibility to find classes individually that suit your availability, so you can study alongside your other commitments.

There is also an opportunity in Semester One for you to enrol into a cohort

Enrolling in a cohort means that, instead of enrolling into your courses individually by picking and choosing the times for each of those courses, you can enrol into a set package of four courses that have been pre-selected by your faculty to make sure you have a clash-free timetable.

These courses are BUSINESS 111, BUSINESS 114, BUSINESS 115, and INFOSYS 110.

Key benefits of choosing to enrol in a cohort

  • This enrolment process is simplified
  • Enrolling into a cohort enables your four courses to be scheduled efficiently for you, across only two days of the week.
  • You will see the same group of students in your lectures, workshops, and tutorials for all of your courses. This encourages you to make connections with the same group of students throughout your first year of study.

If you are starting study in Semester Two, you must enrol into your courses individually as the cohort option is only available in Semester One.

Enrolling into the Bachelor of Commerce as a single degree

If you’re enrolling into the Bachelor of Commerce for the first time, you will enrol into your courses using Timetable Planner.

In Semester One, you can choose to enrol into courses individually OR enrol into a cohort.

If the cohort option in Semester One is full, please enrol into your courses individually.

For Semester Two you will need to enrol into your courses individually, as the courses you will choose will depend upon your choice of majors/electives.
