Fatima was looking for a course that combined her interests in management and engineering. While searching online for 'masters in management' programmes, the University of Auckland came out at the top of the list, so she chose to study at the University of Auckland.

While studying at the University, Fatima was always on the lookout for other learning opportunities outside of coursework. She took a summer internship with the Faculty of Engineering during her first summer and also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant throughout the semester.

She also participated in the Postgraduate Buddy Programme, a volunteer network of new and existing postgraduate engineering students.

"We had the most amazing times with social events, which brought us together - individually, more than just classmates," she says.

Fatima is now a project management professional specialising in infrastructure projects and works as an Associate at an Auckland-based project management firm.
