Dame Charmian J. O'Connor Award in Chemistry

An Award for women undergraduate Chemistry students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, to support Stage II Chemistry studies.

Dulcie Bowman Memorial Scholarship

A Scholarship of $4,500 to support women students with a hearing disability who are enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate study.

The Jackson Family Foundation Scholarship

A Scholarship of up to $11,000 to support women students of Cook Island descent enrolled full-time in any year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

Gabby Marsh Award

An Award of up to $2,500 to support a full-time woman student who is a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, enrolled in Stage III of a BCom or BCom conjoint degree.

Grace Kay Award

An Award of up to $4,000 pa for up to two years for a women student who was born in New Zealand, who is enrolled full-time in a BA or BA conjoint degree and who has completed at least one year of study towards that degree.

Jean Heywood Scholarship

A $3,000 scholarship for a graduate of Epsom Girls' Grammar School enrolling full-time in the first year of an undergraduate degree in either Mathematics or Statistics.

Margaret Tudor South New Start Award

An Award to assist women students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents with the tuition fees for enrolment in the New Start programme.

Mokaraka Māori Women in Business Scholarship

A Scholarship of up to $15,000 to support Māori women enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate study in the Business School.

New Zealand Medical Women's Association Elective Award

A $1,200 Award to support a woman student who is a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident enrolled in Part VI of the MBChB undertaking an elective that focuses on the health of women and children.

Nicola Crowley Memorial Scholarship for Women in Computer Science

An $8,000 Scholarship for  women students who are New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents, and who are enrolled full-time in the penultimate year of a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Advance Science (Honours) or associated conjoint degree in Computer Science, Data Science or Statistics.

SGS New Zealand Women in Engineering Scholarship

A Scholarship of up to $6,000 to assist women students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, and enrolled full-time in Part II or Part III of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering.

The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust Bachelor with Honours Award

An Award of up to $8,000 to support women students enrolled full-time in the final year of an undergraduate Bachelor with Honours degree or postgraduate Bachelor with Honours degree at the University of Auckland.

The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust Dame Dorothy Winstone and Rae Hammer New Start Award

An Award of up to $6,000 pa for up to three years to support women students enrolling full-time in an undergraduate degree who have completed the University of Auckland New Start Programme.

An Award of up to $2,000 to support women students enrolling in an undergraduate degree who have completed a University of Auckland Foundation Programme.

The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust First Year Doctoral Award

An Award of up to $11,000 to support women students enrolled in the first year of full-time enrolment in a PhD or named Doctorate at the University of Auckland.

The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust Dame Dorothy Winstone Doctoral Completion Award

An Award of up to $16,000 to support women doctoral students to make substantial progress towards completion of a PhD or named Doctorate at the University of Auckland.

Prizes

Margaret Morton Memorial Prize

A Prize for the woman student with the greatest potential to success in Mathematics Education or Discrete Mathematics as determined by examination or thesis grades.

Rachael Award

A Prize for the top woman student in Stage I of Gender Studies.

Scarlet Prize in Architecture

A Prize for the woman student enrolled in the Master of Architecture (Professional) who achieved the highest GPA across ARCHDES 700 and ARCHDES 701.

Betty Loughhead Soroptimist Scholarship

The scholarship is to support women who are New Zealand citizens and who are at least 25 years of age on 1 September 2023 to make a step into, or to return to tertiary-level learning. The scholarship may be used for fees, living expenses, travel expenses, childcare costs or  books and equipment needed for your course of study. Recent awards have been in the region of $3,000 - $5,000 (per award)

BPW Franklin Inc Annual Study Award

A $3,000 Award for a woman who has connections with Franklin or is a past or present resident of Franklin, who is enrolled in a course at a recognised university in New Zealand or retraining following an absence from employment.

GCSB Women in STEM Scholarship

The GCSB Women in STEM scholarship is aimed at second year tertiary students and above (including Honours and Masters) who are intending to take a full-time course of study in computer science, cyber security, technology, mathematics, computer engineering and/or data science at any New Zealand tertiary institution.

Four scholarships of up to $10,000 each are available.

Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship

The Scholarship is open to women of any age enrolled in at least the second year of an undergraduate degree or a masters degree, majoring in accounting, economics, finance, business management, marketing, operations management, human resources management, international business, or entrepreneurship, and who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field.

The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust Practicum Awards

An Award to assist a woman to carry out study for a Bachelors or Masters degree with a required practicum component. Awards will be made for a year of study that requires a student to undertake a practicum which is usually unpaid and involves travel or residence away from home. The Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust Tressa Thomas Retraining Awards

Kate Sheppard Memorial Award

The Kate Sheppard Memorial Award Trust was set up to establish an annual award to provide an opportunity for a woman to develop her potential by undertaking further education, study, research or training in areas which are of value in the community of New Zealand.

This award is available to women holding NZ Citizenship or Permanent Residency who are undertaking a special project or post graduate study of value to the wider NZ community.

New Horizons for Women Trust Awards

The New Horizons for Women Trust: Hine Kahukura runs an annual programme of national and regional awards supporting women in Aotearoa New Zealand to pursue education and research. For more information and to apply visit New Horizons for Women Trust.

Quota New Zealand Educational Scholarship

Quota New Zealand offers a Scholarship of up to $5,000 to assist a young woman who has proven academic potential, and has demonstrated financial need or other special circumstances, with the study expenses in their first year of full-time tertiary study. Rosemary Seymour Research & Archives Award

Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowship

Faculty for the Future fellowships are awarded to women from developing and emerging economies who are preparing for PhD or post-doctoral study in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines to pursue advanced graduate study at top universities in their disciplines abroad. Faculty for the Future grants range from USD 25,000 to 50,000 per year for PhD courses. Applications for the 2024-2025 Fellowships are open from 4 September to 10 November 2023. Yvonne A M Smith Charitable Trust Post Graduate Scholarship

The Trust offers an annual scholarship of up to $60,000 for women graduates who wish to embark upon full-time masters or doctoral studies, either in New Zealand or overseas, with preference being given to the subject areas of political studies, economics, business and law.

Zonta Club of Auckland Cherry Raymond Award

A $2,000 award offered annually to a woman living or working in the greater Auckland area for a project which aligns with the mission and vision of Zonta International. Zonta Club of East Auckland Inc Presidents' Scholarship

The Zonta Club of East Auckland offers a $1,500 scholarship to women students aged 25 years or over, who are New Zealand citizens and enrolled in the second or subsequent year of a certificate, degree or diploma. Students must reside within the Club's boundaries, which are the suburbs between Panmure and the northern boundary of Manurewa. Zonta Club South Auckland Study Awards

An award of up to $5,000 is offered to a woman aged 25 to 45 to undertake a course of study towards a professional or vocational qualification of any sort. The award is intended to primarily target a woman who is hoping to begin or to complete a course of study which she was unable to undertake immediately after leaving school.

To be eligible you must live in the region bounded by the Tamaki Estuary in the north and around Pokeno in the south, excluding East Manukau, and be able to provide proof of residence upon request.

Zonta International Women in STEM Scholarship

External Scholarship - Business School, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science

Women of any age and nationality, pursuing a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) degree program at an accredited university/college/institute, who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field and are living or studying in a Zonta district/region, are eligible.

Applications are made through a Zonta Club. A club can be located using the locator tool on the STEM scholarship website. There is a three stage review of the applications. Applications received by the club are reviewed and the best applicant is put forward to the national level (New Zealand represents District 16 of the international Districts/regions of Zonta International). From the national level one applicant is put forward to international level and then these assessed for awarding of the international prize of US$5000.
