Programme overview
This programme is designed with flexibility in mind, making it ideal for professionals who wish to continue working part-time while they train. The first two years are part-time, followed by a third year consisting of a full-time paid internship.
This is an excellent option for working professionals looking to build on an existing Masters or PhD in Psychology. Upon completion of the programme, you will be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board as a Clinical Psychologist.
Enquiries about this course of study should be directed to the Selection Coordinator: glynnis.carolissen@auckland.ac.nz
Programme structure
The Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology programme allows students to complete the additional coursework and gain the practicum experience required to become a registered clinical psychologist.
The programme is delivered over three years in three parts.
Parts I and II comprise 60 points of study each (part-time over two years) while Part III is comprised of 120 points of study (full-time over one year). This allows students to engage in paid employment alongside their study during the first two years of the programme.
For full details, consult the Curriculum Catalogue.
You'll also need to meet other requirements, including time limits and total points limits. See Postgraduate enrolment.
