What you can study in Samoan

You can build up spoken and written skills in Samoan whether you are a beginner, a fluent speaker, or have done Samoan for NCEA.

You can also develop an understanding and appreciation of literary Samoan such as oratory and ceremonial language. You will gain insights into cultural aspects of the language (oral traditions, proverbs and honorific language).

Structuring your study in Samoan

You can take elective courses or complete a Module in Samoan as part of your Bachelor of Arts. You can also complete a Certificate in Languages or Diploma in Languages in Samoan.

Taking a Module in Samoan

If you would like to study Samoan alongside your two BA majors, you can complete a Module.

A Module is an optional grouping of three courses on a particular theme which enables you to add extra value to your Bachelor of Arts.
