Programme overview

Develop advanced knowledge, skills, awareness and critical reflection towards effective supervision within your work context. Designed for working professionals with at least three years’ experience in your field of practice, you will have the opportunity to learn and reflect alongside course colleagues from a broad range of social care and allied health professions to enhance your clinical and professional supervision skills.

Professional Supervision is a significant cornerstone to learning, critical reflection and transformative practice. Throughout the programme you will examine the role of professional supervision, critically analysing and integrating theoretical perspectives, contemporary literature, policy and practice to grow your knowledge, skills and confidence in supervision within your own professional and organisational context.

Programme structure

This 180-point taught programme is delivered through face-to-face block courses at Epsom Campus and online courses. It comprises three 30-point core courses and three 30-point elective courses.

You must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject. Relevant subjects include health, counselling, education or social and human services.

You will need a GPA of 5.0 or higher for your Bachelor’s degree.

You must have at least three years of relevant professional experience and be currently employed or volunteering in a relevant professional context. Relevant contexts may include health, counselling, education, social or human services.

Other pathways to study

If you do not meet the entry requirements, you can still gain entry by passing 60 points in the Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Supervision or passing 60 points in the Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Supervision with a grade point average of 5.0 or higher, provided that the postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma has not been awarded.

If you have not met the requirements you can still gain entry if you have attained an equivalent and relevant, practical, professional or scholarly experience.

Students who have passed courses towards the Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Supervision or Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Supervision at this University may be able to reassign those courses to this degree provided that the postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma has not been awarded.

Fees are set in advance of each calendar year and will be updated on this website. Fees are inclusive of 15% GST, but do not include the Student Services Fee, course books, travel and health insurance, or living costs. Amounts shown are indicative only. In addition to the tuition fees, there is a Student Services Fee of $8.88 per point, estimated at $1,065.60 for full-time study (120 points). Fees will be confirmed upon completion of enrolment into courses.
