New Start financial support
New Start students are not eligible for a student loan or allowance from Studylink. However, the University of Auckland offers other ways to finance your study.
New Start University Preparation Award
A $1,000 Award to assist New Start Programme students with demonstrated financial need.
Margaret Tudor South New Start Award
A $2,000 Award to assist women students who are a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident and enrolling in the New Start programme.
James LeGallais New Start Award
An Award to assist male students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents enrolling in the New Start programme.
Kate Edger Foundation - Dame Dorothy Winstone and Rae Hammer New Start Award
An Award of up to $6,000 pa for up to three years to support female students who have completed the University of Auckland New Start Programme and are now enrolling full-time in an undergraduate degree.
