Staff diversity, equity and inclusion

The Staff DEI team in Human Resources (HR) lead Staff DEI related policy, programmes, capability training, monitoring, and reporting.

Associate Director Staff Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, HR

Focuses on workplace DEI outcomes for academic and professional staff through designing and implementing strategies, plans and programmes. This role is also responsible for the provision of expert advice to members of HR and the University community.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Experience Lead

Contributes to the design and delivery of the DEI employee experience and ensures processes, policies, and regular interactions with Staff DEI are cohesively mapped and delivered. The Lead is also the first point of contact for engaging with all DEI staff-related networks, providing technical and logistical advice and support.

Student diversity, equity and inclusion

The Student DEI team are responsible for student diversity, equity, inclusion and wellbeing. They assist both students and staff members that have queries about their students.

Leads DEI related programmes, awareness training, monitoring, and reporting. This mahi includes working with students to develop and implement strategy, widen participation, celebrate, and affirm diversity, reduce barriers, and advise the University on improvements and new trends that emerge.

Faculties and large-scale research institutes (LSRIs)

All faculties and LSRIs have an Associate Dean Equity or Associate Director Equity. These roles are responsible for providing strategic leadership to advance diversity, equity and inclusion; and foster an equitable environment that enables participation and success for all staff and students. They chair their respective equity and diversity committees, and are also members of the Equity Action Network.
