Our commitments to sustainability

We have a number of internal and external commitments to sustainability and environmental performance improvement.

These commitments are formalised in our Strategic Plan and related policies, as well as international agreements, such as the Universitas 21 Statement on Sustainability, where we are a signatory.

Te Rautaki Aronga Toitū | Sustainability Strategy

Te Rautaki Aronga Toitū | University of Auckland Sustainability Strategy 2022–2030 will be published in late 2022. It will set the direction for the environmental, social and financial choices we will need to make and provide the foundation for how we integrate sustainability into teaching, research, operations, and engagement.

Te Taumata Tukuwaro-kore | Net Zero Carbon Strategy

Te Taumata Tukuwaro-kore, the University of Auckland Net Zero Carbon Strategy, will be published in late 2022. It sets out our commitment to a net zero carbon future, where global warming is limited to 1.5˚C.
