How to apply


A step-by-step guide to applying for New Start programmes.

1. Apply for a place in New Start


  • Log on to www.auckland.ac.nz
  • Select 'Apply now'.
  • Complete the online application for a place in your programme(s) of choice.

2. We will assess your application and inform you of the outcome via email


You will receive an acknowledgement email asking you to provide specific certified documents (and in some cases to complete other requirements) before your application can be assessed. The email will also tell you how to access the University’s Student Services Online system to complete the next steps. Please be aware that documents may take three to four weeks to process during peak periods.

3. Accept your offer of place


Accept your offer

  • You will be required to meet the conditions of your offer and the verification of your personal details.
  • If you accept your offer, you have been admitted to a programme.

4. Pay your fees


Please pay your fees before the start of the programme.

What will it cost?

Fees for 2016 are listed with each course. Every effort is made to keep fees low so that everyone with potential has the opportunity to come to university.

NB: New Start is a part-time University preparation course and you will not be eligible for a student loan or allowance from Studylink.

5. You are now a University of Auckland New Start student. Congratulations!
