Celebrations as thousands graduate from University of Auckland

More than 7,000 students will receive their degrees and diplomas from the University of Auckland with the annual Winter Graduation celebrations underway this week.
The University celebrates 7,136 graduates this year ranging in age from 19 to 78. The total number of qualifications being conferred is 7,292, with 116 people gaining more than one qualification.
More women than men will graduate this year; 3,913 compared with 2,770. The ceremonies are taking place at Spark Arena in downtown Auckland, with 5,063 students graduating in person and another 2,073 applied to graduate in absentia.
Ceremonies on Tuesday include graduates from the faculties of Business, Engineering, Medical and Health Sciences and Creative Arts and Industries.
Ceremonies on Wednesday celebrate graduates from the faculties of Science, Arts, Education and Social Work, and Law.
The University of Auckland warmly congratulates all its graduands.
