Waipapa Taumata Rau course changes

Thursday 16 October: From 2026, the Waipapa Taumata Rau (WTR) courses will no longer be a core requirement for a number of programmes.

Phishing alert: fake Microsoft file-sharing emails

Friday 10 October: There is an ongoing phishing campaign targeting staff and students using compromised accounts to send fake Microsoft file-sharing links that appear to come from someone you know.

2025 influenza vaccination for staff and students

Updated Monday 8 September: All students currently enrolled at the University and all staff on a permanent or fixed term contract are eligible for a free influenza vaccination. It is still possible to be vaccinated – the 2025 influenza immunisation program runs up until December 31.

Advice for campus attendance when unwell and displaying symptoms

Updated Monday 8 September: Protecting our university community from communicable illness and diseases, such as colds, influenza (flu) and other viruses is essential. High levels of respiratory infections remain within the wider community.

Monday 25 August 2025: The new system will introduce license plate recognition technology to enable a semi-automated parking experience.

Draft Freedom of Expression Statement consultation

Thursday 14 August: The University is consulting with staff and students on a draft Freedom of Expression Statement. Consultation closes at 5pm, Friday 17 October.
