Getting started
Once you have a membership you can access Hiwa as often as you like. To make the most our of your membership we recommend checking out what’s on via the Sport and Rec Instagram and jumping on the Sport and Rec portal.
Each visit:
Please bring your campus card – you'll need this to get Hiwa and to access lockers. Remember, you can’t share your card with anyone else. Your membership is just for you. You can bring a friend for one free workout but they will need to sign in at reception.
Lockers are available for use while you’re training or using the facilities. They have a four hour time limit, so please release once you’re finished so another member can use.
Hitting the weights or fitness spaces?
- Bring a towel and use it when you’re using equipment, please also wipe equipment down after use.
- Chat to staff or book a fitness consult if you need a hand getting started or advice while you’re training.
- Wear closed shoes, no crocs!
- Wear gym appropriate attire for you own safety and please make sure it’s clean.
- Check the schedule for group fitness classes before you head in.
Jumping into the pool?
Please wear appropriate pool attire, this means no sweaty gym wear! Help keep our pool safe and don’t bring glass bottles, cups or makeup/perfume.
Check out what lanes are available before you head in.
Keen to drop-in for sport sessions?
Check the schedule for times where the courts and turf are available for you to do your own thing. Drop-in sessions don’t need to be booked.
Please be mindful of other users, if it’s busy please share the space and move on once you’ve had a chance to play.
We recommend booking the squash courts. You’ll need a membership to do so and please remember to cancel your spot if you can’t make it anymore.
Equipment including basketballs and squash rackets are available to hire at reception if you want to try a new sport.
