Academic unit reviews

Academic units with responsibilities for teaching and research are reviewed by an external panel within a 10-year cycle.

Six to eight reviews are carried out each year. These reviews are chaired by a senior member of the academic staff of the University and have a tight focus on curriculum, teaching and research.

Review reports and implementation

External review reports and an implementation plan prepared by the Academic Head are submitted for consideration by Research Committee, Education Committee, Senate and Council.

One year after its consideration of the initial review report, a status report on progress against the implementation plan is submitted to Education Committee. The status report may also be reviewed by Research Committee as needed.
