The Mental Health Crisis Service

Phone: 0800 800 717

  • This is a free public health service. The crisis teams are part of the Community Mental Health Service and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • You will be asked where you live and you will be called by the appropriate crisis team for your area.
  • The teams are trained to respond to people at risk. If you feel unsafe, they will make an assessment and offer appropriate support.
  • If you are concerned about the safety of someone else, you can ask their advice.
  • If the person causing concern is unwilling to accept help, the crisis team may suggest you dial 111.
