Are you looking for other global opportunities, besides those on offer through 360 International, or to pursue post-graduation? There are lots of different opportunities out there! We have collated various global opportunities that we are aware of, although we don’t support them directly, which you may be interested in, including  independent study programmes, scholarships and awards, international summits and more.

International Summer Schools

Note, the following summer schools are available through partner institutions however they are not available through exchange. Full fees must be paid by participating students directly to the host institution. StudyLink is not available to support direct enrol experiences overseas, and applications for credit assessment should be discussed with the Faculty/Programme advisor, before an AS-15 form is submitted.

Schwarzman Scholars

Schwarzman Scholars is a one-year, fully-funded master’s programme at Tsinghua University in Beijing. The programme is designed to build a global community of future leaders who will serve to deepen understanding between China and the rest of the world. If you are interested in this programme, register for an upcoming virtual event to learn more.

Beijing Institute of Technology CSC Graduate Programme

Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is offering 10 Chinese Government Scholarships (CSC) to faculty or students to pursue a Master’s or Ph.D. degree programs at BIT. The CSC full scholarship covers the tuition fees, free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy, comprehensive medical insurance, and the monthly stipend (CNY 3,000 for master’s students and CNY 3,500 for Ph.D. students). The deadline is 31 December.


The German Academic Exchange Service offers different international programmes and scholarships to students interested in studying in Germany, whether or not you are currently studying German at UoA. Please contact Mareike Schmidt, German Language Study Abroad Advisor and NZ DAAD representative, for additional information.

Beijing Institute of Technology Academic Credit Courses Program (BIT ACCP)

BIT ACCP is a short term programme in China where students can take one or two courses during the New Zealand Summer. The programme offers a range of Finance, Marketing, Management and Arts courses taught in English. Both undergraduates and postgraduates from universities around the world are welcome to apply for this academic programme. If you are interested in participating in this course and earing credit towards your University of Auckland degree, you will need to submit an AS-15 form to the Admissions Office at the University of Auckland. Please note, credit is not guaranteed and is subject to assessment and approval from your faculty. The programme application deadline is 30 November

Travel registration

All University of Auckland students taking part in a University-student travel activity abroad are required to register their travel through the Student International Travel Registration Form, prior to departure from New Zealand. This may include some of the opportunities listed above, if you will be participating in them while still a student of the University.

The University of Auckland also provides international travel insurance to current students travelling overseas on approved University student activities, which meet the conditions for eligibility of coverage under the University Student Activity Travel Terms and Conditions.
