University of Alberta Research Experience (UARE)
The University of Alberta Research Experience is a research internship programme allowing top senior undergraduate students from key partner universities to conduct research at the University of Alberta in Canada under the supervision of faculty members who are experts in their field. There are two sessions for this 12-week placement. The UARE winter session typically takes place during January to March, and the UARE summer session typically takes place during May to July or July to September.
Students gain practical research experience in their academic discipline and receive a stipend of CAD$6,000 to assist with costs. You must apply directly to the University of Alberta. Postgraduate Research Student Support (PReSS)
Doctoral students are given an annual research fund and account to assist with their study. The stipend is intended to help cover direct research costs. The amount is dependent on the subject area. Some funding may be used for overseas conferences.

U21 Doctoral Student Mobility Scholarships
A scholarship to support doctoral students who wish to undertake short-term visits and placements at other U21 institutions. It includes a return economy airfare and a stipend. Students may apply for up to three months funding.
