Programme overview

You’ll gain a practical grounding in Bomedical Science through case‑based, hands‑on learning that shows how molecular and cellular discoveries become medical advances. Your biomedical studies will be complemented and enhanced with courses in Engineering. We will enrich your skills, broaden your learning experience – and prepare you to become a key player in the health sector.

The degree provides direct entry from Year 1 into Year 2 clinical programmes, with strong preparation for postgraduate clinical and research pathways in New Zealand  and overseas.

Further requirements

You must have completed one semester of successful bachelor degree study from a New Zealand tertiary institution, or one year of successful study as part of an acceptable sub-degree qualification from a New Zealand tertiary institution. You will also need a sound background in calculus and physics.

  • General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level. You must have completed a minimum of three A-Level subjects.

GCE ‘A’ Level requirements apply to ‘A’ Level qualifications examined by bodies such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, CCEA and Pearson Education Limited taken outside of New Zealand.
