Summer Internship Accommodation

Students from University of Auckland or other New Zealand Universities completing a Summer Internship in Auckland can apply to stay in University Hall Apartments or Te Tirohanga o te Tōangaroa during the 2025-2026 summer period.

Residential Agreements for Summer Internship Accommodation are for a minimum of 14 days, up to the full-term length, so you can fit your Accommodation booking in around your internship dates.

Please note:

• The different date availability of each Residence for Summer Internship Accommodation and select the one that fits your internship dates. These dates are not flexible.
• Summer Accommodation dates are unable to be extended beyond the end date of the summer period.
• Summer Accommodation bookings do not include membership to Hiwa, Recreation Centre. 

Is there a deposit or application fee for Summer Internship bookings?

No application fee is required for summer bookings. You will be charged your first fortnight in advance and this needs to be paid alongside your signed agreement to confirm your Summer booking prior to arrival.

Do I have to book for the whole Summer term?

No, the minimum length booking is two weeks (14 days). To cancel a summer booking, you need to give two or more weeks notice - this is outlined in the booking agreement you need to sign and return to confirm your booking.

My internship is longer than the available accommodation dates, can I come earlier or leave later?

No - we cannot be flexible with our term dates as we move into our Academic Year accommodation term, so you will need to find alternative Accommodation if your internship starts earlier or runs later than the above fixed dates.

Is there catered Accommodation available?

No, we are only able to offer Summer Internship Accommodation at the two self-catered Residences listed above.
